I regularly get asked if it is normal to feel extremely tired whilst undergoing cancer treatment.
Extreme tiredness in cancer care is called cancer fatigue. It is the most commonly reported side effect. Cancer fatigue occurs because while you are on treatment your body is constantly working very hard to heal and rebuild cells. There is evidence to support the role of exercise to counteract the effects of fatigue. Exercise releases chemicals in the body that help you to feel re-energized called endorphines.
