Breast Care Coordinator

The Breast Care Coordinator is a clinical nurse specialist specially trained in all areas of care for patients with breast cancer. The Breast Care Coordinator offers support, information and referral throughout the disease process and recovery.

An important aspect of the role is to be a link for the patient and their carers between different areas of care and their treating clinicians and to be an avenue of support and information for the patient after they have been discharged from the acute care setting. The Breast Care Coordinator liaises closely with specially trained Breast Care Nurses in specialty areas and community support services to provide the best possible practical and emotional supportive care.
